When you arrive to the port of Corfu, a Geo travel representative will wait you for you and you will embark in one of our vehicles and start your private tour with first destination the Achilleion Palace.
The Achilleion Palace was inspired by the Empress Elisabeth of Austria who gave it the name of Achilles, the hero of Greek mythology, whom she admired. Two statuses of Achilles grace the palace, one in the beautiful gardens with many flowers and trees such us bougainvillea and palm trees with marvelous view in Ionian Seas. The other is inside where you will be impressed also by other statues, sculptures, wall paintings and frescos which depict the Greek mythology. There is also a huge collection of books with the history of this palace and portraits of those who lived there.
When your visit ends you will continue your tour to the Old Town of Corfu whose architecture witnesses the Venetian and English domination. There you will see the Spaniada square, the theatre of San Giacomo , the former English Palace as also visit the Church of St. Spyridon, of the 16th century ,who is the Patron of the island.
Afterwards that you will have some free time before your return to the ship, to walk in the pedestrian alleys, do some shopping or relax in a cafeteria.
